New CD LONDON on Leo Records

“Throws a bomb under the usual carve-up between composition and improvisation … big fun … I relished this CD.”  Philip Clark, WIRE Magazine

This Tentet comprises some of the most exciting musicians to emerge from the UK, Madrid (and beyond)  free-jazz and improvised music scene.  Inspired by playing with the Peter Brotzmann tentet this group combines original compositions, with free and conducted improvisation to wildly sensual effect.

The Roland Ramanan Tentet are (probably):

Roland Ramanan (tmpt)    Ian Smith (tmpt)     Rachel Musson (ts)

Adrian Northover (ss)       Ricardo Tejero (as)   Robert Jarvis (tbn)

Mark Sanders (dm)      Javier Carmona (dm)

Roberto Sassi (elec g)      Dominic Lash (b)

“…coruscating work that would be right at home in Sun Ra’s conductions.”  Stuart Broomer, Signal to Noise

  1. Roland, I have the London cd in my 25 favorite recordings of 2010. Played Cup of Tea from it on my year end program on WHFR-FM. Nice work!
Hope to hear you play some time.
